]]> Halloween is fast approaching! This exciting holiday gives kids a chance to be imaginative as well as to enjoy their favorite treats! However, keeping a healthy smile is key to a lifetime of strong oral health. Today, we’re going to give you our guide to keeping a healthy smile amidst the Halloween treats! To be clear, we want kids to enjoy Halloween, and we’re not suggesting that you avoid Halloween candy altogether; however, stick to these simple guidelines to enjoy your Halloween candy, and keep a healthy smile at the same time!

Chewy and Sticky Candies

The number one culprit of tooth decay are sticky and chewy candies – this is because they’re so difficult to remove from your tooth surface. If you eat these candies, be sure to brush and floss very diligently after enjoying!

Rinse After Eating

Simply rinsing your mouth with water is a great way to remove access food particles after eating – especially with candy!

Stick to these simply rules to maintain strong oral health through October, and have a Happy Halloween!
